Knee injuries are no fun in the first place, but when they leave you awake at three o’clock in the morning because of pain and discomfort, they suck even more. In light of my current awakeness, I figured that I would write a blog post from my recently updated HERO which is now running android 2.1 eclair. For any one out there who actually reads my blog and cares about technology, 2.1 on the HERO is much faster than 1.5 and comes with new pretty features like the helicopter view, or whatever HTC decided to call it, which shows you all 7 home screens at once in an expose-esque fashion. The touch response seems to have improved and everything seems to be a bit more polished. With the coming of 2.1 also comes access to many apps, that are 2.0 and later only, such as the Twitter for Android app, Google Goggles and the most recent updates for Google maps featuring navigation. The speed and the sense UI changes were worth the upgrade alone, but everything that comes with a new version of android are certainly welcome. Well it seems that my knee has finally gone numb. Maybe now I can get back to sleep. An hour awake in the middle of the night is not so awesome.
